ARE YOU PUTTING A CAMPER ON A NEWER TOYOTA TACOMA ? (2005 - 2011 TACOMA) We usually don't install the "eye bolts" in these trucks bed because it is a composite truck bed (plastic bed). USED CAMPERS - GENERAL FIT GUIDE |
|
Four Wheel Campers built from 1990 or Newer should fit …Most Chevy Trucks (Up Until 2007 Models) The newer body style in late 07', and the 08' & 09' Chevy/GMC trucks have a modified tail gate open - call us for details. Most Dodge Trucks (except 1994) For the 1994 Dodge Ram Trucks follow the Tundra fit application (due to the narrow tail gate opening) Most Ford F-150 Trucks On the 04' - 09' F-150 a small 2" platform will be needed because these trucks have a deeper truck bed. Most Ford F-250 / F-350 Trucks up until 1998 |
OLD CAMPER FIT ISSUES . . .
Four Wheel Campers built before 1990 will Only fit ..Chevy Trucks built in 1988 or older Dodge Trucks built in 1993 or older Ford F-150 Trucks built in 1996 or older Ford F-250 / F-350 Trucks built in 1998 or older |
There have been a few different Four Wheel Camper Models made over the years that are not in production anymore. So if you are looking at an older camper for sale somewhere and have camper / truck fit questions, just give us a call, we will be glad to help out the best we can -- (example: Fleet Model, Ranger II Model, Older Keystone Model, Blazer, Bronco, Scout, etc.).
Ford F-250 / F-350 Trucks built from 1999-2011 require a special build on the camper. The cab height is 3” taller than any other truck on the market.
The 2007 - 2011 Toyota Tundra trucks and the 2004 - 2011 Ford F-150 trucks have a deeper truck bed. So if you find a used camper for one of these trucks, you will most likely have to add between a 1" - 3" platform (depending on the year of the camper) under the camper for the proper fit. See sample pictures located here -----> "Platform Picture"
Toyota T-100 & Tundra Trucks will only fit the newer style ”full-size” Four Wheel Campers. We narrowed the base on the Hawk & Grandby in the middle of 2001 especially for the T-100 and Tundra owners. If you have a T-100 or Tundra and are looking at used campers, take some careful measurements of the camper and your truck bed before you buy. The Older Hawk & Grandby Models unfortunately will not fit. The tailgate opening on the Toyota is usually the biggest factor. The older campers are 60" or 64" wide where the camper will be sitting in the tail gate opening. The newer campers are 58" wide in the tail gate opening area (specifically to fit the T-100 & Tundra Trucks).
